Katy Perry's "Party of Me" Trailer: Watch Now!

Gearing up for her first major motion picture, Katy Perry is giving fans a first look at her 3-D documentary and concert film, "Part of Me" by releasing a a 18 second trailer.

The "Teenage Dream" singer documents her life in the autobiographical film and is expected to touch on the highs and lows she's faced - including the public split with ex-husband Russell Brand.

Katy talked about her upcoming film during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres telling the talk show host, "I thought it was important for me to show everything in between," adding, "[T]he ride along the way, which can be bumpy ... mostly was extremely fun".

Standing up against the stereotypes of being a celebrity, the 27-year-old said, "Sometimes, people think that we're perfect, and we know we're not perfect at all," she continued. "I think it's important to start breaking down the idea that to achieve your dream, you have to always be perfect or flawless or live in a fantasy world. So that's why I decided to put everything into the film, in the most tasteful way."

In the movie "Part of Me", Katy candidly talks about her rise to fame saying, "I started singing in church. I never really had another plan." adding, “Since I was little, my dream has always been to be on stage".

Katy Perry is "Missing" Russell Brand

Although the words to Katy Perry's new hit "Part of Me" seem to be taking a blatant dig at her ex-husband Russell Brand, sources say the pop princess isn't seeking revenge - it's reconciliation she's after.

"Katy's been trying to get him back!" a close Perry pal tells Us Weekly, adding, "She's a lost soul right now."

And a friend of the 27-year-old singer says the change of heart was triggered by a solo trip to India on April 3rd, which is the same place she exchanged vows with Brand. "She'd already been missing Russell," the insider explains. "Being back there stirred up even more old feelings." Friends of Katy add, "Right now, Katy and Russell are trying to get to the point where they can at least be friends".

Even if Katy is missing her ex-husband, she's not passing up any opportunity to have a little fun with her friends. Aside from the longing for Russell in her life, Katy filmed herself and her pals lip-synching to Justin Bieber protege Carly Rae Jepsen's song "Call Me Maybe" during this past weekend's Coachella festivities.
