Whitney Port found out the hard way on Thursday that sometimes you have to sacrifice for fashion - and sometimes that includes your dignity.
The Hills star looked fantastic until she had to load up her car in West Hollywood, California.
Clearly having only looked at herself from front on in the mirror, the 28-year-old did not realise how short her shorts were until she went to run errands around town.
The reality star and designer had to hold on to her shorts whenever she tried to bend to prevent her bottom being exposed.
Despite the length set back, Whitney did look music festival ready as she grabbed clothing and supplies from an office.
Clearly preparing to head to the annual music festival Coachella in Palm Springs, California, the star loaded up the car with the essentials - beer, food and plenty of clothes.
The three day event may be one of the premiere musical festivals, but it is also one of the most fashion conscious with denim shorts part of the uniform for female attendees.
The 28-year-old fashionista was on point with her denim high waisted hot pants and South-Western inspired print knit jumper.
The Hills star, who wore her long blonde hair out and messy, acessorised her look with zebra print ankle boots and round-framed sunglasses.
However, inexplicably mid-way through her errands the 28-year-old ditched her shoes and bravely went barefoot on Los Angles streets.
Though Whitney is hardly against footwear as earlier on Thursday she instagrammed a photo of her packing for Coachella showing no fewer than 15 pairs of boots, sandals and trainers.
'Packing for #coachella. Oy. Wish I could be more low maintenance!' she wrote.
The star has been looking forward to some time away in the desert.
Whitney posted on her blog this week: 'Coachella is just a few days away and I have to admit, I have been counting down the minutes since last year.
'Live music, great friends, sunshine, dance parties, spicy pizza - it really doesn’t get much better than that!
'This weekend can’t come soon enough.'
The time away is no doubt a welcomed break for The City star having recently lost her father to kidney cancer.
Jeffrey Port, who was 62, passed away last month. Reflecting on her father's life Whitney wrote:
'In your absence I know I must use your 28 years of fatherhood to protect, guide and lead in the only way I know best - the way you taught me.
'Be honorable, be kind, be noble, be just, be silly, be tenacious, be a champion.'
